This Activity book is filled with dozens
of hands-on activities that teach long vowels, their
combinations and rules.
Formats
used:
1.
Medieval Pull
Throughs are colouring book-style pictures
with sound strips that the students colour, cut and pull
through to read. As the students pulls the strip through
words appear one at a time to read. As the consonants
change the students practice their letter sounds and
blending. Colouring and cutting practice is built into
the cute, fun format.
2.
Final E Switcheroo Activity
Sheets teach how the final e switches the
vowel from short to long. The student cuts and pastes the
final e onto each short vowel word to make a new long
vowel word. Physically adding the Final E Helps students
remember this hard
skill.
3. Final E Rhyme
Puzzles Match
up pairs of rhyming
words. The words are presented with two different
cartoons. As the student pairs up the words, the pictures
pair up also. This multi-sensory approach to learning new
words helps reinforce the Final E rule
