You will find a lot of emphasis on St. Boniface's & St. Albert's, but content is not restricted to those. Your input is required and appreciated.

Salford which (according to the book Salford a city and it's past) is derived from an Anglo-Saxon word or words. And can be traced back to as early as 912.
Sal or in the old English 'sahl' could be the basic element in the modern words 'sallow' or 'willow' and of course the word 'Ford' is associated with crossing or fording the river usually at the shallowest part  giving the meaning 'Willow by the Ford'

What's the purpose of this page? Well after contacting, and being contacted by "old school mates" I got to thinking that if there was a place that I / We could post photographs, and information about Salford.  And in particular Broughton. Then collectively we may be able to create a community where we can visit, exchange memories and maybe get to relocate long lost friendships

I am not sure how the page will look or where it is going. I would like input from all who visit. I cannot guarantee I will be able to post everything you send me right away but I will do my best to upgrade on a fairly regular basis. And now I await your input. Terry Buckley

Update Message 15 May 2007:

My server upgraded his drives in the later part of 2006  which is a bonus. Unfortunately for me when they transferred my web page files the backed up version they uploaded was old outdated page files. Fortunately for me I did have current back ups. Unfortunately for me I have to change each page by hand so it is going to take some time to do each page. My entire web has over fifty extension pages including this one. I am concentrating on the pages that produce my income this one does not it is a free page and therefore goes on the back burner.  I do have images and information to add, and I will get around to it eventually.

I have removed the forum due to lack of use.

As you can see I am gradually changing the look of the page also.  Thank you for your patience!

If you operate your own business in Salford let me know and I will give you a mention or link to your website
(only legal stuff of course!) Or if you have any suggestions to make this site better let me know.
